All spaces surrounding us contain stories about the lives that unfold within them. Starting with that story, the value of the space shines brighter when it can bring about sincere empathy from people. Studio Writers, as its name suggests, writes stories within spaces. Writers write stories through the various materials around them.  And they refine the story through a process of continual reflection and editing. Just as everyone’s lives are different, the story that each space seeks to convey will no doubt be different. We hope to create unique values from such stories and bring about sincere empathy through them.

Studio Writers is a Seoul-based design studio founded in 2017 to provide interior-architecture, and service-strategy and design solutions. Writers was one of the five finalists for the “Emerging Designer of the Year” category at the 2019 FRAME AWARDS, held in Amsterdam in February, 2019. This put the Writers’ name on the global map, and was a recognition of the group’s belief and trajectory in design. In May 2019, Writers had the honor of winning the “Outstanding Restaurant Design, 75 Seats and Under” category at the 29th James Beard Foundation Award, dubbed the “Oscars for the culinary industry”.
